DT day at Meljen's Designs

Hi everyone!
Today it's my turn again to show you something I made. First I have to tell you this story before I show you what I've made.
Last month I went to the Elf Fantasy Fair, a really big fantasy event in The Netherlands. For this event I made a new costume because my old one was too big. I've lost 20 kg's past year so I had a really good excuse to make something new :-) (the hat is also handmade by me, so it matched my dress)
I went for the Steampunk style and this is me in my costume.

I showed this picture to the other girls of the DT and gave Melissa because of this inspiration to draw a new image.
Guess which one she made??? Yes, you're correct: "Steampunk Girl". This girl is a bit inspired by me, how cool is that??

Ofcourse I had to make something with her and made this card. I've used the colours of my own costume to colour her up with my Prisma Coloured pencils and had so much fun making this card.I've used some really grungy papers and distressed the sides. Embellished my card with some gears and leatherlooking flowers. The flowers are made from grungeboard and then painted with  different metallic paints. The buttons I've got from my mom and I think they're really "Steampunk" looking.

Tim Holtz Tags 2013- May

Gisteravond lekker aan de freubel geweest met de tag van mei voor de Tags of 2013 van Tim Holtz. Blijft leuk om met je eigen spulletjes een tag te maken geïnspireerd door Tim Holtz.
Deze keer is de tag met rubons en deze rubon had ik al heel lang liggen, hij is van Basic Grey, en kon ik nu eindelijk eens een keer gebruiken :)
De houten vlindertjes zijn van de Xenos, en zijn zo leuk. Ze zijn niet zo groot dus passen prima op een tag of kaart.

Meljen's Challenge #161 Bejewelled Bliss

Welcome to another fun challenge on the Meljen's Designsteam and Challengeblog! This week we've got "Bejewelled Bliss" for you.

I made this card with "Prancing Poodle" and my bling is found on the poodle's hair (did this with stickles) and added jewels on the boarder.

Welkom bij een nieuwe leuke uitdaging op het Meljen's Designteam en Challengeblog!

Deze week "Bejewelled Bliss" , we willen graag glitter en bling op je projekt zien.

Pak dus al je bling uit de kast en doe vooral mee!

Ik heb "Prancing Poodle" gebruikt en haar haren lekker met Stickles bewerkt en steentjes langs de rand geplakt.

Als je meedoet vergeet dan vooral niet om een afbeelding van Meljen's Designs te gebruiken want anders doe je niet mee in de trekking waarbij je wel tot 3 afbeeldingen naar keuze kan winnen!!

Ik had zin om eens mee te doen aan een challenge want vind het altijd leuk om mezelf uit te dagen om iets anders te doen dan ik normaal zou scrappen.
Ik ben op het Scrap Around the World blog beland en die hadden een challenge die me gelijk aansprak, zowel de kleuren als de sketch.
Je moest dit moodboard en deze sketch als je uitgangspunt nemen en uiteindelijk is het dit bij mij geworden.
 Een layout zonder bloemen hahaha, en dat is voor het eerst. Normaal doe ik ze overal op maar vond het bij deze layout niet zo passen. Hij moest natuurlijk wel een beetje stoer blijven.

Ik heb me laten inspireren door verschillende dingen van het moodboard en de sketch: o.a. de cirkel, de spetters, de kleur turquoise, oranje en roestbruin.

Het is uiteindelijk een beetje een combi geworden van de dingen die ik bij Finnabair heb geleerd en van mijzelf.
Het achtergrondpapier heb ik bewerkt met Heidi Swapp inkt en een mask, waarin ik de kleur heel licht heb opgebracht want ik vond het daar een te leeg stuk. Zo breekt het net een beetje meer. Eigenlijk maar heel weinig papier gebruikt achter de foto's. Zijn allemaal kleine stukjes die ik nog over had en heel mooi op deze manier kon verwerken.
Al met al lekker bezig geweest op deze regenachtige maandag!

I wanted to join a challenge and found this challengeblog: Scrap Around the World. They had a challenge which I immediately liked and decided to enter.
You have to use this moodboard and sketch as your startingpoint and this is what I made with it. I've used among other things the circle, the paintsplatters and the colours.
It was also a nice way to use my scraps, because behind the photos there are only small pieces I've used.

Van de week deze 2 kaartjes gemaakt. Afbeeldingen zijn beide van The Stamping Chef. De eerste is een freebie en de tweede had ik gewonnen.
Ik had er nog steeds niks mee gedaan dus dat werd wel tijd :)
Beide afbeeldingen zijn met Prisma Colours potloden gekleurd. Ben erg blij met mijn potloden, heb een doosje van 24 stuks maar ik ga er nog wel wat kleuren bij kopen want vind ze echt heerlijk kleuren.

Kenny K Challenge Steampunk

I saw the new challenge over on the Kenny K blog and ofcourse as a Steampunk lover I couldn't resist to enter. They got such cool Steampunk images at Kenny K.
I've used Paige Parasol and I love all the details of her.
I found some papers with gears that fitted perfectly with this image. I think they are from Prima Marketing.
Image is coloured with Prisma coloured pencils.

Also I decided to enter the Facebookchallenge of Kenny K. This is made with the freebie of this month.
This image is called Anime DJ. This image is also coloured with Prisma colouredpencils.

Ik zag de nieuwe challenge op het Kenny K blog: Steampunk en natuurlijk als Steampunk liefhebber kan ik niet anders als meedoen :)  Ze hebben zulke gave Steampunkafbeeldingen!!
Ik heb Paige Parasol gebruikt en zij heeft zulke mooie details.
Ik vond papier met radertjes dat er mooi bijpaste (ik geloof dat het van Prima Marketing is.
Beide afbeeldingen zijn gekleurd met Prisma kleurpotloden.
