MD #228 Karaoke

Hi everyone!! It's time for a new challenge on the Meljen's Designsteam and Challengeblog!! This week it's Karaoke time! You've got to pick a song and use this as a inspiration for your card.
I've picked "Happy" from Pharrell Williams, eventhough I've heard it a 1000 times I still like it and it makes me happy to listen to it.
For my card I've used "Sunny Day Flower" because a sunflower always makes me happy to see. I love the bright yellow of them!

You can now enter the challenges with any image you like but when you use an image of Meljen's Designs you'll get an extra entry and the chance of winning 2 images of your choice.

For my card I've used 2 images of Meljen's Designs: "Squirrel's Little Acorn" and "Autumn Leaf and Acorn".
I've fuzzycutted the leaves and acorn and used them to decorate the border.

DT day at Meljen's Designs

Hi everyone!!
I had lost my inspiration this week but luckily there's Pinterest. I couldn't think of anything to make for my blogpost for today so I went browsing on Pinterest and found this cute milkcarton.
It's really easy to make and it makes a perfect last minute gift.

I've used "Berry Happy" on my milkcarton and fuzzycutted the strawberry so it popped a little more. I've decorated my milkcarton with a big flower and some leaves, punched two holes in the top and put a ribbon through it. Before you tie it closed, you can fill it with little treats of your choice like sweats or cookies.
(If you want you could even make a little window in it, so you can see what's inside)
Don't forget to take a look at the shop because Melissa gave the shop a fabulous make-over!! In honour of the shop upgrade she's got a sale going on!

MD #226 School Supplies

Welcome to a new fun challenge on the Meljen's Designsteam and Challengeblog!! Everyone is back to school (or work), so it's time for a matching challenge here. We want to see a project where you use school supplies!
For my card this week I've used "Study Owl" and I've put 4 pencils as a frame around my image. ( I got them at a really cheap store.) I also put 2 paperclips as a decoration on my card.

You can use any image you want but using a Meljen's Designs will give you an extra entry into the prize drawing.

Seahorse necklace

Recent weer heerlijk met mijn klei aan het spelen geweest. Ik wilde al een tijdje iets met een zeepaardje doen want dat vind ik altijd zulke fascinerende diertjes. Ik heb mijn inspiratie gehaald uit het boek "Under the Sea" van Christi Friesen maar heb er wel weer mijn eigen draai aangegeven.
Ik heb een ketting gemaakt met niet alleen een zeepaard maar ook een octopus, die trouwens superleuk was om te maken. Verder nog een visje en wat zeesterren erbij. Uiteraard een bijpassende armband, ring en setje oorbellen in het zeethema.
Ik ben alweer over het volgende kleiproject aan het nadenken, misschien iets met een vogel ofzo :)

My recently made new set of jewelry made with polymerclay. This time I've made a sea themed set. I love seahorses so this was my focal point of the necklace. Also a octopus, who was really fun to make and a little fish. Further more I made a matching bracelet, ring and earrings to go with my necklace. Again I've got my inspiration from Christi Friesen. This time from her book "Under the Sea". 

I'm already thinking about a next project, maybe something with a bird would be nice.

Lilac flowers necklace

Deze ketting heb ik al een tijdje geleden gemaakt maar vergeet ik elke keer op mijn blog te zetten. Hij is gemaakt met behulp van een tutorial van Christi Friesen. Ik ben een grote fan van haar werk. Zij heeft een stijl die mij heel erg aanspreekt. De fantasie die ze heeft in haar figuren/bloemen in combinatie met de manier waarop ze dit uitwerkt in haar kettingen.
Ik heb deze ketting gemaakt voor een Elfen fotoshoot die ik een tijdje geleden had gedaan. Elf is niet helemaal mijn ding (ben toch meer van de stoere dingen) maar het was wel heel erg leuk om een keer te doen. Heb me toch maar weer voor volgend jaar opgegeven :)

Deze foto is van Thoran Pictures Photography. Zoals je kan zien heb ik er zelfs nog een bijpassende tiara bij gemaakt en een toverstaf :) Vleugels zijn trouwens zelf gemaakt, met behulp van diverse tutorials die ik online had gevonden. Jammer genoeg heb ik niet echt een goede foto vanaf de zijkant van mijn vleugels. Hier zie je niet zo goed dat ze allerlei kleuren hebben.
